Recommended Streaming TV?

I use Roku, but have subscriptions to Prime video, Discovery, and a couple other sub channels. Cheaper than cable. I do have fiber optic internet that is lightning fast, though (and still faster and cheaper than cable internet).

I don't follow any sport with a ball, so can't help you with the sports channels. Really don't watch a ton of TV. Don't even have a TV in the living room, only in the bedrooms. Music and conversation is the focus in the living room.

Overall, I've been happy with Roku and Prime. Thats mainly what I watch when not listening to a record.

So what is the solution?
I haven't watched a football game since the late '80s ( maybe I did watch a Super Bowl in the 90's), baseball or hockey since the '70s. I have never watched a complete basketball game, golf, tennis or NASCAR. Occasionally I catch 10-15 minutes here or there when I visited my dad. Now that he is dead, I get no sports input.
Turn off the idiot box!! Think of what you can do with that Saturday and/or Sunday instead of being a couch potato, while cheering for/against somebody that doesn't even know you exist. Treat the sports celebrity the way they treat you - pretend they don't exist.
We have 1 TV. We watch an hour a night before bed. I pay for the Discovery package but am upset it doesn't include the History channel. All other TV viewing is using free apps with ill placed commercials. When the commercials become too much, I use the OFF button.

I’ll stick to my rabbit ears and basic cable, hell I haven’t watched Fox News in several years. History, discovery and paramount aren’t bad though

gunsandgunsmithing makes a very good point, Yes we are very competitive people here but we don't have to argue over every single thing someone else brings up.

If we as a group continue to give our money to those who want to change our way of life to make us do what they want, ... then they win and we lose.

I DON'T LIKE BEING THE LOOSER IN ANYTHING!!

Sorry about yelling.

Live in the woods on a tree farm, rolling wooded hills all around, 30 miles outside of town. No cable, no land line, no reliable cel service. So got notice that Star-Link was to be available in my area in 2023. Watching TV is OK.....however, my interest is more about a constant loop connection for medical devices.
As we get older, some of the modern offerings seem more and more necessary than just nice. The monitors for heart and diabetics require a constant loop contact, to function properly, so am wandering if anyone uses these and how they actually work in practice inside and outside.
I tried a diabetic glucose monitor and could not get it to maintain contact with their server.

sling tv was good now I'm doing FUBO but since the stuffed a $30 sports package down my throat, I'm looking else where, but it does work well.

you'll get more channels with SLING TV for half the price of your "basic cable" that what got me streaming, my first TV wasn't that smart so I bought the ROKU top of the line box for $75 and later I got a smart TV I will sell the ROKU box for $65 shipped if anyone wants to stream.

Actually we have a Joey tapped into the dish next door, we pay iirc $15 a month so we get what they get. Sorta .. we don’t have internet beyond this so called smart phone. ( because I prefer not to block my view) I have a 24 in tv in the front room and a big screen ( 32) :) in the bedroom.

What about finding the channel you want to watch? Is it like cable or? Thanks
NO! That may be the biggest down side vs dish or direct. It takes some getting used to but IME, none of the streaming services are anywhere near as easy to navigate as dish or direct....but they work and you have to give it time before throwing in the towel, for sure. I think I like the youtube a little better than I did the hulu but this is maybe the most common complaint with streaming tv.

Many streaming services, NO CONTRACT! Sling is working OK for me. Got all the channels I could want. Lower cost than satellite. Not effected by the weather, either. Got an antenna for local channels and get many. Gotta' see the local weather forecast, 101F, 99, 103F,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Put up an antenna for local channels....We have Amazon prime plus max but we watch a lot of movies.... As far as actually streaming services we will change them basically because we have seen everything we wanted.... It's easy enough to get them back or drop them again , the one we keep is Amazon.....there's plenty of free servers out there like tubi etc so there's thousands of free with a few commercials movies.... Unfortunately we have all this and direct tv but I think direct tv is fixing to GO....When I get where I am going where ever that is I am going to put up and old school antenna , here close to a major city which I want way away from you get all local and a bunch of second rate channels free....

Well, I have Spectrum and they have not been able to renew their contract with Disney, while I don't support Disney necessarily I do like ESPN and the SEC network, History channel and others so I'm thinking about streaming. Hulu looks pretty good but what are your thoughts and what have you tried. I like the Golf Channel, History, Discovery, SEC Network (not available on most streaming), ESPN and a few others. Thoughts?

History channel... hmmm

The "Rewriting History Channel" would be more appropriate. And how.
