Recommended Rimfire Suppressors?

I have a Spectre RF can, used it on a built up 10/22 the other day, first shot I could hear the action cycle, and used a Ruger branded can on another built up 10/22, could hear the action cycle on the first shot as well. Get one rated for 17HMR or 22 mag for future expansion if desired. Clean them on a regular basis as RF ammo is extra dirty, and the longer you wait, the harder the end caps are to remove for cleaning. Experience is talking here on the cleaning part.

I’m a believer in spend to buy the best suppressor that you can. You will own this until you die so don’t be cheap. Get a quality constructed (titanium, etc so that it is light). You also want it to be easily serviceable. Rimfire ammo is dirty and your rimfire suppressor will need cleaning or else it starts collecting/filling with lead and becoming less effective.

If I were to go buy a 22lr can then I would start with Thunderbeast or Dead Air. There may be other top tier worth buying. Buy once, cry once, and then smile every time you use it.

I just bought a thunder beast 22 take down. It's on its way next week. If its anything like their ultra 9 and 7 models it will be great! The banish 22 has a great reputation and would be my second choice.

Contact AWC System Technologies and see if they will convert your rifle to an Ultra series sound suppression system. They did a Rem 541 for me circa 1984 and the loudest sound is the firing pin falling. I shoot CCI Mini-Mag because the barrel is ported so that the ammo stays subsonic. It clocks 920-950fps at the muzzle. With a ported barrel you must use a copper wash projectile so it does not plug the ports. My barrel shoots them consistently into an inch at 50yds for 10 shots and the projectile will pass through a 2x4 every single time at 100yds.

I'll echo support for the dead air mask. I bought one 2 years ago and it's great.

Disassembly for cleaning is a must. I also tried to keep with durable metals, for cleaning. The mask internals are titanium and i drop the baffles in CLR for 60 min and rinse to clean.

From a rifle the best performance is to shoot CCI standard velocity IMO. I bought 5 500 shot bricks for $175 from sportsman's guide. Came out to $0.08 per shot whcih was $0.005 more than the rem golden bullet bucket at the time. Way more accurate and reliable though.

I bought a dead air mask last year. I watched allot of videos and did some reading first and it was said to have no first round pop and it was right. I was very happy with it with cci quiets it's unreal quite. The sound of bullet hitting backstop is loader then the shot. I don't have experience with any others but feel like it would be hard to find one that does any better. Seems like the mask is popular by these responses.

I have 2 Rugged Oculus 22. Awesome can, quiet, unconditional lifetime warranty and stupid easy to completely disassemble and clean.

No barrel length restrictions and belt fed full auto rated... being a modular can makes it 2 cans in one...long for rifle and short K config to throw on a pistol..

I have an all stainless silencerco sparrow that has served me pretty well. They are now made of titanium. It has a little first round pop but doesnt seem to be any worse than others ive shot with. Easy to take down and clean as well. Ive been shooting it on my 1022s for years and a ruger mk1v. In the last few months i got a bergara b14r that is crazy quite with cci sv. With no action to cycle you just hear the click of the firing pin.

We are not allowed suppressors in Oz but I was wondering what you do in the USA if you damage a suppressor beyond repair? If it's registered with the ATF can you dispose of it? How does it get off your record? Assuming via a FFL.
