Recommendations on a scope mount system

I have a Savage Model 12 LRPV in 6MM BR and a Sightron 8-32x56 scope. I plan on target shooting only. What scope mount system do experienced shooters recommend? The 1 piece Tally seems like a good option.
Also, initially I plan to shoot out to 300 yds. I was told if I plan to go further I have to be concerned about the elevation limits of the scope/mount. How would I choose a scope mount system that could handle for longer range shooting?

JPM,

I have a Ken Ferrel weaver style base, with Burris Zee Sig. rings on my Savage.

+1 for what Mark said. If you are ever planning on shooting at further distances, I would go w/ a 20MOA base, you can get some of that w/ the Burris rings- +20 in the back and -20 up front. The Sightron has alot of elevation adjustment so you should have no problem being on at 100yds w/ that set up as well as all the elevation you need for 1000yds.
