Recommend a smith

So time has come to pull apart my 700. I had a barrel spun up for it. (prefit remage) While i have the action off id like to find a smith to double pin the lug, do a side bolt release and thread the handle. I know its not a big task but there arent many smiths in my area except one I refuse to use. East TN/SWVA I dont mind shipping it out but not wanting to wait months.

Thanks!

I had Greg at Gre-Tan Rifles bush firing pin, provide lug and pin, and install side bolt release. Action was gone 5 weeks. Total cost was about $320.00.

PShooter,
I'm in Eastern NC and have an excellent smith just right down the road. Sure, you will have to ship it, but he does all my work. Retire Armor/Scout sniper. He really knows his stuff and does a lights out job. Plus, he is fast. I think I'm up to 5 or 6 Savages that he trued up for me and all of them are in the .3" groups. The average wait time for me has been less then two weeks. Most of the time, he gets them back to me within the week. Super good people to work with as well. I has several buddies that use him and all have been very happy! Also, he is not trying to retire off of one order, so prices are very reasonable.

Talk to Lee, he is the owner. Sarah, his wife, is super helpful too!

Chad Dixon at LRI in Sturgis. I walked in there awhile back expecting to just drop off a rem action for blueprint, time’n’tig, etc. He literally dropped what he was doing and asked “You in a hurry?” Walked out there 45 min later, action in hand. Still had time to make the wedding rehearsal I was in town for lol. If he was trying to make a customer for life....it worked lol.

I was there, that happened. It was pretty cool.
