Recoil Lugs on 6mm's

I'm going to be using a Stiller Tac30 AW to build my 6x47 or 6 Dasher. They don't come with an integral recoil lug. But is one really needed on either of these calibers? For banging steel long range and doing PRS matches? I cant imagine either cartridge having much recoil on a 14lb gun with a muzzle brake or suppressor. I'm only asking because I'm ordering my McMillan A4 tomorrow and need to tell them if I want it inletted for a recoil lug....unless they all come with that standard

Well from looking at pictures and specs on Stillers website...I don't see any mention of the Tac30 AW having either an integral or pinned lug. I know if you buy them from BugHoles that they will come with a pinned lug.

Do I need to specify to McMillan that it needs inletted for a recoil lug? Would telling them I want a "full inlet" automatically get me the inlet for a recoil lug?

Yes a full inlet will have the cutout for the pinned lug they provide

They should already be pinned and included in the price...

Well like I said before...nowhere on the Stiller website does it say that. Nor does any picture of Tac30 AW actions on stillers website show a recoil lug. So I'm not sure where you're getting this info...unless you are talking about the Stiller actions offered by BugHoles. Which are more costly than ordering directly from Stiller

my Tac 30 came with a pinned recoil lug,,20 moa pic rail with 8/40 screws and pins between the screws and trigger pins,,

so far I have a 6.5x47 Bartlien,6BRDX Krieger,6BRDX Brux and Krieger 243 bbls,,I would guess upwards of 6,000 rounds on action with no problems at all,,

friend of mine got a Tac 300 magnum left hand straight from Stiller that came with the pinned lug and pic rail just like mine,,

The actions that come from Stiller have pic rails on them...not 20moa rails. Unless you custom order them that way. Just seEms really strange that they don't list recoil lugs under "specs" or show them on the actions

Every Stiller action I've ever seen it comes in white cardboard box with action,bolt with plastic protector cap over bolt face and a recoil lug in a little plastic bag with pin inside bag also.
If you get a used one without recoil lug and need one, Stiller gets their lugs from PTG.

Dont forget those trigger pins in that plastic bag with the recoil lug included with every stiller action ever sold
