6 Competition Match Performance

Before I'd go 6x47L, consider this...the 6x47L is a great round however it can be finicky b/c folks want a certain velocity (usually 3k fps)and this cartridge boiler room is just at its max if not it's upper threshold for that speed vs pressure with 105s. IMO this cartridge is best suited for 2900-2950 fps without pressure spikes due to temp., fouling, and other Conditions and keeping pressures in check with great shot to shot consistently.
IMO these come to mind that are very forgiving and have a wider tune ability as conditions change (No particular order)
6xc. 243 win. 6 slr. 6CM. 6creedmoor(borderline)
6.5 creedmoor. 6.5x47L. 260rem.
U notice that all of them have very close same capacities and why they are widely used in PRS. I've personally still shoot 243win, 6xc, did shoot 6CM (I have that reamer and go gauge for sale if one wants)
And I used to shoot 6x47L too, so yes i have personal experience with quite a few of these rounds. So if u have a velocity pre determined in your mind and it's near 2950-3k, I'd shy away from 6x47L and look at the others..
Good luck on your Endeavor...this shooting stuff gets expensive really quick..
Sent you a pm

I will be getting another 6mm Competition Match chambered later this year after I get the barrel I want.

Don i am sure happy I took ur advice and had Bruno build me a 6cm. It's a shooter. WishI knew how to post pics of my rifle and groups. They are both awesome.

How would you guys compare the 6CM against the 243AI?
I haven't been shooting my 6cm very long and never shot a 243 ai, but I would think due to the difference in shoulder angle, the 6cm will feed much easier. I talked to Joe when considering the 6cm. I told him I wasn't into competition shooting, and will mostly shoot from a bench. He told me an ai would also be a good choice. I asked him why he didnt shoot it then. He replied the 6cm is a little better.I went with the 6cm. I wanted something a little better. :) And Boy Howdy!

I have never had a 243 AI that would not feed from a 700 magazine, what is a little better?

Any consideration towards the 6XC? It loads easy, with RL17 I have very good accuracy even while I am still under 100 rounds. Even pushing Over 3200fps there is minimal recoil. Norma brass holds up well. Shooting 600yds well under .5moa even in the winds here in Northern Colorado.

Now days there are so many great rounds out there choosing is tough.
