rechamber?

I have a Shilen barrel that is currently chamber in 243win that i just back from Shilen do to copper fouling bad. how much length will i lose if i have rechamberd to 6br? barrel is a varmint contour so i think that would be possible.

The 243 neck is larger so you have to set it back enough to get the BR shoulder junction to the front of the 243 neck. A bit over .800" and that won't get you a new throat. So depending on if you want a new throat or not the total set back might be .900"-1". A lot...
