rechamber

picked up used 6 ppc. don't have dies or brass for 6 ppc. can i rechamber barrel for 6 br. if i can what is envoled. do i have to cange bolts or will it work like it is.

stolle panda action. just thought about rechambering it because of cost on brass and dies. i'm already set up for a 6 br. i'm going to shot it and see what it will do. if it shots good, i guess i will leave it alone.

John, as the chamber is already 6 PPC, I would FF your 6 BR cases and go with the PPC, rather than re chamber and shorten the barrel a bit. PPC Dies Etc will cost less.
But I dont have a PPC, I'm sort of a 6BR type of guy.
Have fun with the new to you rifle, want to trade it for anything? Just kidding, sort of.
Good Luck Mike.

They bolt is fine as it is, and seeing the case for the PPC is smaller you'll not have any problem rechambering it to the 6BR.
Not sure how you'll fire form,FF) 6br cases so they'll fit in a 6PPC chamber, I don't really know where folks come up with some of this stuff for answers.......

Yes you have to change the bolt face. The PPC is pretty close to a .308,BR) bolt face so it may be reasonable to smith it. It sort of depends on what kind of shooting you do. If you do a lot of point blank,200ys or less) shooting I'd keep it a PPC. If you find yourself out at 500-600yds I'd look to a 6BR.

Mike

Yes, I have had 3 PPC done, Just rechamber to 6BR. If the boltface will not fit, some do, have it open up. It would cost less than buying everything for a PPC
