Recessed bolt head on single shot

So i have encountered a problem feeding 223 single shot. I don't know if that's what the OP is asking or if he is just asking a bit of a naive question;

Clearly the remington Single shot will feed most 223 rounds. Nothing special about it.

However, I built a 223 to shoot 90s and put a bit too much chamfer on the inside diameter of the tenon and it allowed the extremely long bullet nose to hit the flat part of the tenon recess just below the chamber. Had to do some modifications to make it work. If I was building another one, I'd put minimal chamfer on the tenon recess and I think that would guide the bullet into the chamber.
