has anyone tried reboring say you a hummer barrel in a 22ppc you could rebore it to a 6ppc I seen a link to clearwater reboring read it and was wondering if anyone has tried it thanx RobD

My .284 XP hunting pistol was a 25/284 that was re bored by Cliff La Bounty when he was still in the business and it shoots better than the 25/284 did.
He sold the business to Jim Dubell at Delta Gun Shop Colville, Wash.,509) 684-5855 while he had my 22/6mm AI, so Jim re bored it to a straight 6mm, and left the chamber as it was, and opened the neck and it to shoots better than it ever did, 80 grain Fowlers out of it are a varmints nightmare.

The late Richard Nickel from Ridgetop Reboring in Eatonville WA, once rebored and rechambered my Sav 112 barrel from 22-250 to 6.5-257 AI-30° and it shot like the proverbial house afire. A few years after Richard's untimely death, Marie sold the reboring & rerifling machines to a gentleman in Montana who places ads on Handloader...

Jim Dubell did a 9.3 barrel for me. The only reason that I did it was to salvage an old German barrel with a full rib and very nice iron sights. If it weren't for this reason, I would start with a new barrel.
