I have everything I need to re-barrel my trued Remington. Current barrel is a 6BRX and so will the new one be. I decided to use the PT&G go and no-go gauges on the current barrel. It seems my current chamber is .003" longer than the no-go. I used Scotch tape and the Hornady gauge to measure the base to shoulder datum. I have a Fowler caliper that i believe to be accurate. I have a couple fired cases that the bolt is hard to close on that are within .0005" of the above reading. I have 200 Lapua cases that I fire formed in this barrel. They are at .001" over the no go gauge measurement and will have to be resized later. Do I need to bump the shoulder on two or three of these for my gunsmith or just let him work with the gauges? Thanks. Frank
PS: Difference between the gauges is .003".
