Had shoulder surgery at the beginning of December and just got done switching my rifle from 30-06 shooting heavy 230s to a much milder 6mm Creedmoor.
The barrel is a heavy varmint 30 inch 8 twist 5R. I’ll be using 109 Bergers, Lapua brass, and CCI small primers.
Powder is hard to come by these days, but I do have a good amount of H4350, H4831SC, RL22, and tons of Varget.
From most of the posts I’ve searched, it looks like most are going with the H4350 or RL16, but also looks like most are using a lighter bullet in a shorter barrel as well.
I have seen some mention of RL23 as well. Isn’t RL23 just a less temp sensitive RL22
(I am not a PRS shooter. It’s a single shot rifle and I am in no hurry)?
What should I start with? Should I just go straight for the H4350 or will the slower powders better benefit me with the longer barrel and heavier bullet?
