Rebarrel Howa with prefit?

Anyone rebarrel a Howa with a prefit and a barrel nut like a Savage/Remage?

How did it turn out?

All the preferred barrels I’ve chambered have been shooters. I know they aren’t top quality but they are decent for the price.

Just did a mini. FYI as noted else where, barrels can be tough to get off. Ended up doing a relief cut.
As far as how it shoots, will add more when I get it up and running.

I just installed a preferred barrels Howage pre-fit in 6x45 on a 1500 action. I've only got a chance to shoot a few rounds through it (got caught by a Florida frog strangler thunderstorm) but so far I have been pleased with what I've seen. The barrel scoped out well, chamber was nice and smooth and the threads on the tenon and the nut cut clean and screwed into the reciever easily. This is a stainless barrel on a stainless receiver. I'm looking forward to wringing this one out.

Now one caveat, there website says 4 to 5 week turnaround, mine took 12 weeks but they warn you about that at checkout.

I will add they knocked a lot of the “ugly” off of their style nuts.

I agree, probably one of the better looking barrel nuts I've seen.

Based on three Shilen prefits I put on Savage actions, this is another option I bet would work well for Howa and others.
