Rebarrel a Bergara

I am looking into this myself for an early B14 HMR in .308. Mine has a barrel nut. I spoke to Bryce @ Preferred Barrels who makes one for my action.

Seems as if this can be done. My question to all is "Would You?". If I were able to pick up the donor rifle for a decent price would this be worth my time and money to use that as a build basis for a 308 F/TR rifle?

I already have a spare Jewell trigger that I think should fit, and a stock left over from a build I converted a Rem 700 SA to a bench gun. Now that said, I already have a little bit of a bad taste from having owned a B14 earlier and dumped because it would not run SRP brass without blanking the primers even at a modest load. Bergara was of absolutely no help. But Now that I know that I can have the bolt bushed and likely solve that issue I was wondering if it might be a good start if the price is right?

I would just buy a good 700 clone action that needs nothing done to it.

I talked to member "urbanrifleman" about this and he said no prob. He has many great testimonials from clients here on the forum, and a good selection of chambers to choose from also. jd

It's a Remington 700 with no counterbore. I've sold lots of them since I made my first one a couple years back. That Bergera action is a good action. It looks almost the same as a Mack Bros.
