Rear bag query

Just wondering what you guys use for rear bags in ftr , I have tried them all including making my own filled with sand , rice and anything else I could find ,. No matter what I have tried it seems I cannot stay on target once the shot is gone , I have practiced my technique and am convinced I need a better rear bag , thanks

I am not an F-tr shooter but have shot open. I know you said your sure of your technique, but I'll throw this out there. I found your bodys position behind the gun is very important to tracking. Your shoulder should be square to the gun, your spine parallel to the bore. Try different parts of your shoulder until the gun starts to track. I'd like more gun info and the bag your using. I doubt it is your bag. Rear bags are important to tracking but it would have to be pretty bag to take you clear off the target.

Yeah...what he said! ;D

Unless the toe of your stock is digging into the bag at the rear......

My rear bag doesn't start tracking well until I have really got it to settle down. It needs about 15 shots, or me running the rifle back and forth in it a jillion times before it settles down.

True That!

Thanks for the replies , I think I found my problem , my bag rider when extended gives me a lot of play , I tried this evening with the bag rider bottomed out and it improved immensely
