Rear bag help for F-TR

Getting started into the F-TR world. Using a benchrest stock witch probably isn’t ideal but it’s what I have.

I was wondering what the preferred rear bag is when shooting F-TR? Do you generally want a bag with a channel or compressed ears like the fully tan one? I have the fully tan one but wouldn’t be opposed to picking up a bag with a channel. I also attached a picture of the stock.

Most shooters prefer a bag with a channel wide enough for the stock to rest on the bag, not the ears. I like as heavy a bag as possible for stability. Seb bigfoot is great, but there are others.

A channel would be preferred so that settling of the ears during the string doesn't happen. You don't want to be chasing your elevation during a string as the ears settle in. Ear length will depend on your stock, Height should be considered as well for comfort. I am a fan of Edgewood bags but there are several good ones out there.

The protector bags like the Bumble Bee are perfect for me but I shoot open class.
Call them up and they will make one for you to your stock.

Lots of BR stocks in FTR. That won’t hold you back. Measure the stock bottom as best you can and get one that fits so the stock rides on the bag in between the ears, but isn’t loose side to side.

What stock do you have maybe someone has a bag suggestion?
