I have a light and heavy gun that have wood stocks I made. I didn't know anything about the design of the "keel" of the stock that rides in the rear bag, so neither one of the stocks track the way they should.
I want to do two things at the same time to fix the problem once and for all.
1. I want to replace my rear bag. It is a Caldwell and doesn't hold sand in the ears very well.
2. I want some specific measurements so I can make adjustable keels to fit the new bag. Width at the bottom, what angle from there, so on.
For instance, I am looking for information such as: "I use a brand X bag with X length ears and my stock is shaped this way and tracks well."
I don't have a mentor, or anyone near by that has a competition stock that I can look at so I have some measurements for the keel. A pic would help if possible.
Thank you for any help.
Jim
