Reaming22 short to 22 lg

I have a old 22 shot only can I take the and chamber that barrel out to shoot 22long rifle or is the barrel the wrong twist Thank You

It is probably too slow of a twist. Most 22 Short were 1-24" while 22 LR are 1-16". You can still rechamber to 22 LR but you will have to use light weight, high velocity ammo, and you can still use Shorts or Longs.

You have probably already checked this, but if you have not, it is possible your rifle is worth considerably more as a .22 short than .22lr, I would check the value before altering the rifle. Ammo for your gun is out there, just gotta do the search.........buntingmiester
