Reamers PT&G vs JGS vs Manson vs Clymer

I like JGS. I was literally unable to do business with PTG after being stuck in an endless loop of "Only Dave can help you with that, he will call you later this afternoon." And never getting that call back from Dave.

I worked with PTG on a .222 Remington reamer with a .250" neck, zero freebore and a 1.5 degree throat angle. Took me a month to get a print and it was wrong. I sent them my changes and no reply after another month.

I contacted Manson and had a reply in a week with a correct print. Thay offered to modify a stock .222 Rem reamer to match my requierments and offered a 2 week delivery. Needless to say I bought the Manson.

Because my gunsmith liked pt&g (and or Kiff), I had them build several reamers for me for about 5 years. Nothing but problems. Wrong items shipped, reamers built wrong, horrible cs, and people running the place that have their heads up their ***. I don't know how they can stay in business. There have been countless threads on this forum about what a screwed up company they are when it comes to making reamers for customers.

I recently needed a 338 Federal reamer built for my latest custom build. Manson would only sell me a zero freebore reamer...they wouldn't build me one.

So I gave JGS a whirl. Wow, what an awesome experience, and a great reamer. The people there are outstanding, and communication is even better! They kept sending me reamer prints, after measuring the dummy round I sent them, for my 'smith and me to go over, and made the changes according to our input...after examining each print. Then the final print was approved by us, and the reamer was built.

I can't say enough good about JGS. The communication and customer service at JGS is top notch. They are running their company like we all expect. Long winded, yes. But, they deserve the praise.

I just received my modified .222 Rem reamer from Dave Manson. It took about two weeks from the time I had a print.
