Reamer Suggestion

I'm planning to build up a .284 Shehane barrel for my Barnard / Elisio Tube gun and I'd like to buy my own reamer to start with. I plan to use the Berger 180 Hybrids that most others are using. Can someone recommend the best Reamer to purchase? Thanks.

PT&G has them, I believe "on the shelf" >>188 Freebore. You need at least a .188Freebore and if you want to go to almost ANY other bullet you will need a .220.. With the new Scenars "L"s, you will need at least a .250 and a .275 is better yet. Then if you want a "no-turn" neck, you will need a .317>> I like a "complete clean up of my necks" so I use a .315 neck.

What shootdots said.

I ordered a 284 shehane reamer from Ptg with a phone conversation with Dave. I wanted it setup for the 168vld for a light hunting rifle. The neck is .317 and the FB is .123. Definitely need more FB. Still very accurate at a lower charge of h4350.
Should of asked here first before ordering!

I bought one from PT&G with a .317 neck and .188 FB. I used their 7mm Uni-Throater and throated it out longer to about .230

I took 1st in my last local match with my 284 Shehane. 180gr hybrids going about 2890fps in a 30" bartlein 1:9 twist, lapua brass, H4831SC and 210Ms

I think this is a winning combo ;)
