Reamer regrind

I have picked up a 6x47L reamer that is unused. It was supposed to be the “improved “ version that would match the brass and dies that came with it. Well, it is the 30 degree shoulder. The guy had a rifle and dies built for the 40 degree version and liked it so much he bought his own reamer but apparently didn’t spec the 40 shoulder.Question, can I send this to be reground to a 40 degree shoulder or am I better off just buying new? Thanks!

Depends how much meat is on the reamer. For the (likely) cost in re-profiling yours, It will likely be cheaper buying the correct one.

Regrind is cheaper and just as good as new as long as there is enough material there to make what you want. The reamer will simply be shorter and a tad more rigid.

The only downside I can see is stress on material from being used previously.
