Reamer question?

Looking to buy my own reamer for a rifle build and had a question. Looking at buying a JGS reamer for my smith to use for my rifle, my question is about bushings. Do all the reamer brands use the same bushings? For example if my smith mainly uses ptg or manson reamers would he have what is needed to use a jgs reamer?

PTG, JGS, and Manson use the same bushings.

Just check with him to make sure he has a set for the bore diameter you need (he probably does it it's commonly used).
The one sent with the reamer may not be best fit

Your smith probably has a group of bushings that he can use to find the right one. You can buy a kit of bushings but the price will shock you..

your gunsmith will have it- or he should if he's ever done anything in that caliber. part of being a gunsmith is having enough money sunk into reamers and bushings to finance a mid-size war.
