Reamer Math.........

I'm working on a 22GT project and thought I'd throw out some numbers and see what the consensus of opinion is on body dimensions. The 'standard' 22GT reamer print from JGS has a .200 line dimension of .4710. I have the Lapua 6GT brass that measures .4685 at the .200 line. The .4710 print seems to be a bit on the small size, at .0025 clearance, with the Lapua brass. I have a .22 Creedmoor JGS reamer that is .4714 at the .200 and I use Lapua 6mm CM brass that measures .467 at the .200 line. That combo has worked flawlessly with a Whidden sizing die. I'm leaning towards altering the 22GT print from .4710 to .4720 to set up .0035 clearance on unfired brass. The last thing in the world I want is clickers. I hate that with a passion. Rational thoughts and opinions are welcome and encouraged. I'll see if I can attach a print in a few minutes.

I would wanna know the die i was using what it sized the brass to at the .200, what if it sized it only back to .470 or larger.

You can see where the uncertainty comes from. I called Whidden and asked if they could tell me what the dimensions were on their GT sizing die. The number they quoted was .4715 "at the base of the die." That dimension clearly isn't going to work if the reamer is .4710.

Yep. I would be making phone calls to other die manufacturers to see what theres sized to before I made a decision

Sizing die- reamer fit is important not what new brass measures.
