Reamer makers

I'm about to fit my first barrel and need to purchase a reamer (6BR). The tool makers that seem well regarded on this board are PTG and Manson. I've enquired with both and Manson is quite a bit cheaper. Are their reamers on par? Obviously I'm looking for the best deal but not at the expense of quality.

Are there other tool makers I should investigate?

TIA

Scott

Make sure you compare apples to apples, solid pilot versus removable pilot. Then, if the "off the shelf" reamer isn't exactly what you want, check what the cost is for the changes.

Nothing wrong with Manson reamers. Most of mine are Manson's. Recently got a couple from JGS (per customers request) and they were the best cutting reamers I've gotten lately. Problem was a long wait time to get them.

Henricksson, PTG, Manson, Clymer, JGS and I am sure there are others. PTG has always been easy to work with but they are a little inundated lately and I have heard of a few bad experiences. I haven't had one yet. Just ordered a Grizzly rod and they sent it right out.

I needed to order a reamer recently and had heard that PTG was very busy and I expected an 8 week wait. They had it to me in about 4 weeks and as always it cut like a lazer. I did have one reamer not to spec from them several years ago but no issues since then.

I like the JGS best,
So far they are the only ones that cut on all flutes.
I do have a few Clymers that also cut very well. I have no experience with the mansons.
