We have a lot of those retired "yankees" that want to move to a warmer climate, sell their house and discover they can buy 3x's the house in this area for what they sold their crackerbox house, move down here and then complain because we do things differently than back up north. They EXPECT us to change to their way of life. When all those broke ass union auto workers moved here in the 1980s to go into construction I heard that a lot!!!!!
Told em if the didn't like how we do it here to go home and starve!!!!

It seems as though that is the only option, escape. Problem is that eventually it catches up with you. Local politicians seem to always want "growth and progress". Get and stay involved in your local city, county and state elections. I think now we all can understand what the Native Americans faced.I escaped to the mountains of WV. Thankfully
EXACTLY!!!!!Like the Eagles song The Last Resort. Tarey
You can thank LBJ for this mindset. It's the brainwashing/propagandizing that they have shoved down their throats on a daily basis by the schools and the media. They have been taught to think the Government is their God instead of the Government works for them.
I'm a Yankee, but aside from the slavery issue, I have always thought that you Southern folks had way more common sense than most up here. I'm not looking to move, but if I were I'm of the mindset that when in Rome, do as the Romans do.We have a lot of those retired "yankees" that want to move to a warmer climate, sell their house and discover they can buy 3x's the house in this area for what they sold their crackerbox house, move down here and then complain because we do things differently than back up north. Here here!!!! I’d actually like to go back to the Texas that existed before women got the right to vote!!!!! (Don’t tell my wife I said that!!! I sometimes think that is when this slide to the left started!)Not this one... I moved from PA to TX and love it here just the way it is!
