We are thinking along the same line! The reason I like 150 yds is the bullet rifle combo has to hold 1 moa or we don't learn anything. I don't mind mistakes as long as I learn something .And I think past 150 with the stuff that's subsonic won't give you accurate feedback ,was that me or what.I probably shot 100 scores last year and did not shoot one clean

That's exactly what I mean!!! I didn't make it out there today. But already got the dope for 150 and 200 yards.

We shoot a 100/200 yd prone.match (bipods allowed) at my usual range, I have found that subsonic (Eley Tenex) works pretty well, but shooting 22 lr at 200 yds compares favorably with shooting 223 at 600. Hopes thos relates in some way to the existing thread.

I shot 4 scores today at 150 and the best was a 195 worst 188 it was a tough day with about a 8 mph switching 1 to 4 o'clock wind.

As I vaguely remember reading about, there used to be a Mini Palma course back in the 30s-40s. I think it was .22 LR at 100, 150 and 200 yds prone, iron sights. Sounds like good cheap practice for wind doping.

I think those are called Creedmoor small bore matches.

10 shots. That would have been all X's on a smallbore F Class 100 yard target. That target is a 600 yard F Class reduced 100 yard target I made and printed.
I made some 1 MOA and less than half MOA X ring targets for 100 and 200 yards. Next time out I'm going out to 200 yards. I used thicker paper so the holes should be cleaner.

Well I tried to get out to 200 yards but my scope came up about 5 MOA short. So I moved to 170 meters. I hit the paper and had a 3 shot bug hole but couldn't tell till I picked up the target. So I moved back to 100 yards. 7 to 10MPH was the toughest conditions I have shot the 22 in. I learned a lot today. Which is my main goal for picking up the 22.

100-5x @ 100 yards in 7 to 10MPH Switching wind. 2 sighters and 10 shots for record. Also no wind indicators used.( flags or surveyors tape ) Because I can't use any in High power F Class

97-1 X same conditions.

I appreciate an honest man printing the wild ones ;D You can put a rubber shim at the tip of your forearm and get the clicks you need with out hurting accuracy. As I say 150 yds with a little wind is all you want .I'd show some of my targets but I don't want to hurt your eyes so you can't shoot LOL.

We were shooting a 600 yd fclass reduced down to 100 yd. I think it was it was 1 moa 10 ring and 1/2 moa x ring. We switched to an A-23/5 I think it's less than a moa. We shoot at 100 yards even though it's a 50 yard small bore target. We shoot 60 rounds for score possible 600 score. We been shooting it for 3 years and no one has ever scored 600. I shot a 596 with 42x one time. That's the best I've ever shot in a competition.

A random thought on practicing with no flags - if the range you compete at has any feature that you can use for wind estimation (grass, trees, brush, etc) you might want to practice with flags so that you can compare the flags to the grass or other feature(s) under a given set of conditions when you practice. Then you can use the grass or whatever and know what it's telling you when you don't have the flags.
