Memphis will hold its 4th IBS match this Sunday, Fathers Day. I went with my shooting buddy and decided to give the 108 Bergers a try and believe thats what I`m gonna shoot this weekend. I found out ROCKJAG4 makes an aluminum brake and have been looking for a light weight one for some time. I tested it as well and all looks great.

Looks good, say those 108s did well.I wished Memphis was not so far away I would love to come shoot out there sometime.I have been to the city twice once to St Jude and once to the big ole graceland.12 hours from my driveway and all on the same road haha. I reeally do like the brake does the gun barely move now?

It moves still, but much less and more so straight back. Its easier/quicker to get back to battery. I wish you could come out, we always have a great time.

Tim,
When you decide you don't like those 108's, you can send them to me ;)

I have 2 barrels that just hate them, I'm betting yours will too!

lol, good luck!

Nothing showed up here yet. Looks like you let Harold get first in line, he`s bringing me a barrel/brake this weekend. I have bought 2 brakes on here and both are unreal. John11/87 makes a beauty out of stainless and this one for weight concerns is awesome. 2 great products.

Aluminium is too soft - also soft steel is not suitable for breaks.
Best is surface hardened (nitrided) steel.

I`d agree something much harder is the best choice for endurance, but the aluminum is the best choice for my needs in this application. I looked long and hard to find one.

aluminum will erode very quick with hot gasses and pressure i have tried aluminum brakes before and after a few hundred rounds you will probably start noticing bad erosion and start getting fliers because of gas pitting inside brake. also as aluminum heats it expands more than the steel barrel and will shoot loose so be careful with that. what i have done is have the aluminum brakes and baffles inside suppressors hard anodized and ti coated this makes them hold up very well . just my experence yours may be better
