Reading wind beyond 1000 yards

Hiyas,
I currently shoot F/TR matches in Australia and have made good use of the wind equation in the article on wind reading by Maj. John Plaster. As I'm now graduating to shooting match rifle which will take me out to 1200 yards my question to you is this,
Do I use the same constant for 1100 and 1200 yards as I would for 1000 yards, the constant for 1000yrds being 11 or is it dropped down to 10 or 9, or maybe even 8 given the slowing speed of the rounds velocity.

Equation being:

range/10
x
wind speed/mathematical constant= MOA
eg.
300/10=3, 3 x wind speed of 10mph=30, 30 divided by the constant(15 @ 300 yards)=2 MOA of adjustment.
Please help :)
Thanks

Ok,
anyone that can read the wind beyond 1000yrds without an electronic gadget and willing to share the secret please do tell.
All techniques will be tested and tried as I need to find a reliable method that can be used without frying my brain.
Hope someone out there can help.
Thanks :)

i am not a long range shooter like most of you but does that
equation really work. if so that is some pretty neat stuff goin on.
just my thoughts.

Thanks guys,
I will have a look at the places suggested.
the wind drift article from 6mm I think I've read but will go back as knowing me I might of missed something or not have it register as most of my reading gets done late at night ::)

Also a correction to my original post the formula I use is not from the CMP. Very sorry for the misleading information it is in fact from an article I read in Rifle Shooter Magazine written by Maj. John Plaster and I will go back and correct it. I suppose that's what ya get for reading stuff when your half asleep.

Here is the link for the article

Thanks again for your time
