Haven’t competed in a couple years but still love following the game. I spent countless hours testing with a ppc, we have a 100 yard indoor range. I still have a couple ppcs sitting in the safe ready to go.

Is there a place higher up where you can get past the shots popping out?
What do you watch out for shooting hot?
30.4 is as high as I usually go

Tim, here is a question for you. When you shoot, what are you shooting off of? Rest, bipod? Free recoil?

Depending on lot of powder determines how hot, a ppc is working on a razor edge tough to ever know when that could happen. 30.4 on several lots is getting close to top but I’ve shot higher. Any shooters worried about wrecking brass likely not consistently at the top, just my opinion

Thanks for the clarification. Kinda what I thought as I normally shoot from a bipod which is what is required at our informal local league. Maybe some day I can shoot as well.

I agree on the ornament just add seating depth and powder, OK.

IMO Tim, once the Perfect seating depth is attained it may not need to be changed for the life of the barrel. If so, maybe a thou for erosion. I know that some tune with seating depth, that's above my head, but it works for them. The big boys shoot the same bullets, use the same reamer ect. with their program. Stick with powder to tune and you only have one variable, I believe. Unless you're me that is. After almost 25 years of shooting, I ran head on into the dreaded donut yesterday and had seating issues. WTF is next, locusts???? That's another story. I believe I've killed too many brain cells.

At times. It takes me toooo long to get to the perfect seating depth.
There are places it will fool you during practice. Sometimes, I don't get it figured out until halfway through the match.

Which takes you back to using the same reamer, bullets, ect. Just don't use the same reamer until you wear it out like I did and take WAY TOO LONG to figure out what was going on wrong with my program.

As I expressed I am seriously interested in the UBR matches and have talked with a few people that shoot it. Was researching something about the scoring and came across the site, Benchrest Central and even a topic which you participated in from 2018! So again thank you I learned a lot about the UBR organization. So if you don't mind I would like to PM you and pick your brain.
