Re Products In-Stock Threads?

Good morning guys. So, I was going to stop posting In-Stock threads, but I received a few request via direct message to continue posting. Here is the deal. I understand that posting In-Stock threads might seem unhelpful to some. In all honest truth, trying to purchase any type of component online without any type of assistance is a losing battle. For example, the Reloading channel in Discord has anywhere from 2000-2500 members always online in a moments notice to purchase anything that comes in stock. I use an alteration version of the PlayStation 5 In-Stock bot, that I have modified to check a verity of websites for certain primers, powders, and bullets. Sometimes, I come out ahead a few seconds before it lands on Discord. Sometimes, I am a bit behind. In which case I post out the notifications from Discord directly here. [Edited by Forum Boss].


Also, attached is a screenshot of the amount of users online via Discord as of today. I don't mind posting threads regarding In-Stock items. So, that is not an issue. Thanks again for your time, and all the support I have received over the past few months.

This is still a free country, at least for a while. You have every right to continue to post anything within the Forum Boss's guidelines.

There are a dozen other things I'd like to change before I started controlling the freedom to post. The same ideas still apply. If you don't like a post or idea, DON"T read it!

I would say keep posting if it helps the members here. Things are starting to come back now .

This morning the LGS had probably 10 different powders and a good supply of primers on the shelf at reasonable prices and I buy local now whenever I can. Limit was 1 pound of powder and 100 primers per day per person. However all the members here do not live as close to a large or medium size city like I do. I have a feeling that anyone looking to gouge right now is going to be screwed and sitting on a lot of product that will not move

I use discord too and have been able to get primers there.

Considering the discord channel has 7000 to 8000 members on it, you posting here is a drop in the bucket.

I doubt successful hoarders are looking here for their inside info about where to buy.

And if you're posting here about availability, that is being very nice

Basically what I said in another post where people were complaining that it was feeding the hoarders/scalpers.

One suggestions I have is maybe Forum Boss can create a new subforum for in-stock posts. That way all the posts about reloading don't get buried.

The Boss certainly can add another sub forum, but that’s up to him.
One option is to delete the post either the next day or as soon as Noremaximus sees the item go out of stock.
I do like seeing what was available, but I agree it does clog up reloading forum.

I think its great but would prefer it be in a single thread. Posting everything as its own thread tends to bury the reloading content very quickly.

I'd like to see a new subforum for in-stock posts. I don't mind the posts, but they're really starting to dominate the forum pages and it's taking more effort to fish through all the in-stock threads to find the other topics that interest me.

Maybe this is something @Forum Boss can add, if it's not too much work?

This is a significant problem. The multiple threads push everything down. The posts become useless quickly, sometimes within minutes.

It may help someone who is desperately watching for a particular item, but it is an impediment to 95% of the readers who don't need/want that product and are looking to learn about reloading processes, methods etc. instaed.

I will consolidate most of the threads and we'll see how that goes.

This is a discussion area, not simple a list of what's for sale (with threads that become quickly useless).
