I'm sorry the Forum was down for a while this evening. It took me a couple hours to get hold of my programmer. We are puzzled at the causes of this breakdown. The forum runs in an SQL database. What happened is that one of the databases became corrupted. Unfortunately, we have to go deep into the server functions to fix this sort of thing.
The Forum has actually been very stable for a long time. But it crashed a couple weeks ago for the first time. And this is the second time. I was told the first time that the crash was a "rare and unpredictable" occurrence, but now I'm not so sure. We are looking at migrating the forum to another software platform and another server. That might give us more stability, but it would also ad costs, and different software might be slower.
