RCBS Uniflow III

Has anyone tried this new one. Propaganda says one drum for both large rifle and small pistol. I'm skeptical, unless there's some new thing that I've not seen. I've always used the small chamber drum for charges of say 30 grains and less - and the large one for 30 and up.
I've used my small drum for as small as 1.5 grains for wimpy gallery loads and such. I just don't see that happening with the large chamber drum.

Thoughts or experience?? jd

i wonder how it works mabie a chamber inside a chamber. seems ive seen them with two chambers on one drum. they go in at angles.

So this afternoon I got off my azz and did an experiment.
First I set up the my Uniflow with the small drum and using HP 38, set for the smallest possible charge. I was able to get down to a charge weight of 1.0 grains, with very good accuracy as measured with my Lyman digital scale.

Then I set up with the large chamber. Smallest charge attainable was 2.5 grains. But I was surprised in that accuracy was still pretty good with +/- .1 grain. jd

The reason I'm trying for tiny charges is for a little top break S&W 32 that I've got. 1.5 gr. is a good mild load for it. jd

i always noticed the large chambers seem to do pretty well with small charges. wondered about that. ive got a couple reddings and never have gotten that great accuracy- should try a lee i heer.

I do all my pistol loads with a Lee Perfect Powder measure. Just seems (by observation) to be more consistent than either my Lyman 55 or RCBS Quickchange. Definitely quicker to set up.
