RCBS Ultrasonic Case Cleaning Solution - Good or bad?

Hi, I'd like to hear your opinions about the above product, since I've had a bad experience with it.
I have used it for the first time, and it took 80 minutes to half clean 60 cases of 6.5x55 in my ultrasonic cleaner.
In YouTube I saw a video in which only a cycle of 30 minutes was used, but that hasn't worked for me.
I have written to the RCBS Service Support and the answer has been that I have to use a 90 minutes cycle, with hot water @140F.
Does it make sense to any of you?
Has anyone used this formula? What is your experience?
Thank you for your smart feedbacks.

Jose_Luis_G,

I use Hot water with 1 tablespoon of Dawn (no substitution, no shares in the company, alas!) for approximately 28 minutes, then one rinse with water and Lemishine(dishwasher cleaner), and a final water-only rinse.

Works well and it smells good!

PS: Don't put in too many brass in the cleaner, it doesn't help.

Cheers,

Phil Fortin aka tazzman

Ive never used an ultrasonic cleaner but from what I know about any cleaning method is the method is only good as the products used to do the cleaning... In other words try different cleaning solutions...

My ultrasonic cleaner has been relegated to "bolt cleaning duty" for my AR's.

For brass cleaning I've found that SS Pin media, dawn, Lemishine and a couple hours in a tumbler is the only way to get my brass clean enough for my liking. I got tired of having to go reset my US cleaner every 8 minutes and then have to wait until it cooled down after three cycles like that.

As for the RCBS solution, I tried it too. Works no better or worse than the rest.

Using an Ultrasonic cleaning system requires understanding all three variables very well.
1. Number of cases that can be cleaned at one time depends on capacity of the machine. (Fewer cases equals faster and more thorough cleaning).
2. Ratio of cleaning chemical to water
3. Temperature of the solution "over the entire cleaning period". Start with 140 degree water and you'll have something a lot cooler as the cleaning cycle progresses.

Strange. My ultrasonic cleaner ends up with warmer water after several cycles, even if I start with "tap cold" water.

Hornady solution got me halfway to clean in my harbor frt unit. Now I bolster it w/a little lemishine and it gets things clean pretty darn fast. All that said I've still migrated back to my normal tumbler w/white rice and a little commercial tumbler additive.....its pretty much dust free and fast. By the time I get myself a pin/solution tumbler there'll be something else new...lol!

Mine will "warm" tap water but it never holds anything over about 100 - 110 degrees so 140 degree fluids actually cool a bit over the cleaning cycle. If yours raises the 140 degree initial temperature perhaps mine isn't working right. How much does the temperature increase from a 140 degree starting point over the cleaning cycle period?
