Rcbs service

Yes agree top shelf service. I've had several small plastic press parts break and when contact to buy replacements they have always send new ones and would not accept my desire to pay. I hope their new owner doesn't muck up a fantastic company, both in products and in service !!

Last year I needed a shell holder that fit a 22 Hornet. I couldn't get there website to let me order it, so I emailed describing the problem I had ordering. I got a fast response asking for my address as they were going to ship one free.

I bought a used RCBS Junior press off Ebay cheap without a handle. But the newer handles are a different thread size. I contacted them thinking I could order a new handle, but they didn't have any. So they took my old block and reported and rethreaded it for the new handle threads.

Great service.

RCBS and Redding should be poster people for good service.

Amen! Business schools should study them.

I just used their email contact for a swagger rod replacement. Great response time of 4 days to get a shipping notice that said was covered under warranty. No time spent on phone was wonderful.

Alas, RCBS lost me as a customer a couple years ago due to their customer service.

Had a standard 284 Win that I bought a set of new dies for.

Full length die was sizing the neck too small.

Called RCBS. Was told that I should have bought the 284 Win die set, not the 6.5-284 set.
I emailed pictures of the die stating "284 Win".

I buy Forester or Redding now.

Using a FL sizer to also size the neck is sometimes a crap shoot. The individual chamber might be just a bit too small to work with a specific die. Did you ask them to modify it for you after taking measurements of the diameter of your chamber neck? For several rifle calibers I have a wilson bushing neck die. Let me fine tune neck tension and not overwork the brass.

Exactly my experience and they mailed the parts to the UK, all FOC. I've since bought more RCBS products so good customer service definitely pays off.

It would be my guess that the new owner may have kept the same customer service department, (which may be just one guy).
The last time I had occasion to use them, it ended up being a person to person phone call, with someone I'd like to go fishing with. My mental picture was of a guy in his seventies whose been with RCBS SINCE the seventies, and can remember at least half of the part numbers of the stuff that he's dealt with for the last 50 years. jd

A week ago I broke the threaded shaft on my 1980s vintage RCBS Universal Decapping die. I was going to buy a new one but wasn't sure which one to order so i emailed RCBS. They replied that they were shipping me a new one no charge. They didn't ask for anything but an address. Great to deal with a GREAT company.

I would imagine it pays for Hodgdon to keep RCBS rolling now that they own them, I think selling powder to us is a profitable business.
I agree with you on selling powder being profitable. However, if you've notices many major online retailers of powder and having no haz mat or free shipping days lately. The really popular stuff like H4895 is tough to get, but the not so popular powder is available.

Hodgdon is smart to diversify!
