RCBS Pro 2000??? Should I buy?

Not sure yet. I asked him what he wanted for it and he said he’d get back to me. He’s a real nice “old” guy and I didn’t want to push. I’m not sure what they’re worth, either.

I met a guy that has one for sale. It’s BIG. Never seen one. Are they any good?
I like the way the powder measure stays in the press when u change calibers plus u get one extra die station than some others. Ive never used one of these though so cant say anything based on experience with one.

I didnt know this was a progressive press thought is was the big RCBS single stage. If the price is right and you dont own a progressive grab it. Pistol rounds on a single stage is time consuming , I dont hate it but now my Girl friend is getting into shooting so demand for more rounds is up.

IMHO.
Great Press! Bought mine from Graf's for about $300 in 2002. It is the manual indexing model, which I prefer. Dead simple and built like a tank. I also like the APS priming system.

I also concur on the RCBS powder lockout die. It's the best $50 you will ever spend...

Regards, Matt.

I have two Pro 2000 presses, both purchased off ebay for under $400.00 each, one is manual index the other is auto index. If you have never used a progressive the manual is a good starting place, gives you a little time to think between press strokes. They both had the APS priming strips, but I converted the auto index to a tube primer, mostly because I like to tinker, not that the APS was a problem, both priming systems have worked well for me.

I can very comfortably load 300 to 400 rounds per hour, the advertised rate of 600 is a little out of my reach. Progressives have a little learning curve, start slow and get familiar with the press and process, add speed later. If you load or want to load pistol or AR progressives are the way to go, and I have been very satisfied with the
Pro 2000.
