RCBS Neck turning help

Hey Fellows,
I reacently purchased a RCBS neck turning tool to use on my case trimmer. My rifle does not have a turn neck, it is a standard .243 chamber in a Shilen barrel. But I wanted to try to take a thousandth or two off of my Lapua brass. I have not worked on them yet, but I have turned a few remington brass down. The problem that I have is that I have seen smalll scratches and ridges in the brass. I do not know why it is being cut that way. Do you all have any expereince using them?
I am sure that they are not the best one to use, but I just wanted to tighten my groups a hair if possiable.
Thanks.

Hello Croberts,

A couple of years ago I started my neckturning ventures with the RCBS add-ons for their trimmer. I'm sorry to say it was a complete waste of money. I moved on to a Sinclair neckturner and am happy with that.

The neckturned cases were not uniform and had the ugly marks you describe. Problem I believe is the slop there is in the trimmer and the not perfect fit of the pilot increasing the problem.

Sorry I could not bring you any better news. Maybe others have better experiences with this setup.

Cheers from the Euro-zone,
BolloX
