I just don't understand paying that kind of money and not getting a autotrickler. It does everything the matchmaster does but faster and more accurate.

I bought one, used it to load 200 rounds of 300 Norma Mag.

Zero variations in charge weight over the 200 rounds.

Came inside the house, got on the computer and ordered a second one, which was delivered yesterday.

Best auto drop I have ever used.....PERIOD

And yes I have owned and have used the A&D scale with the auto trickler.

What is better about the matchmaster?

I have NEVER had an issue with RCBS standing behind their products.

Have you ever asked them about repair of a chargemaster? If it is over a year old, you are out of luck

RCBS missed the price point in that one, there are far better systems out there at a similar price point.

For decades, we threw charges by volume with various powder throwers, which regardless of ones technique, was good for +- .3.

The CM Lite is at least that good for Short Range.

I have preloaded for Varmint for Score Match’s using my Denver Electronics Scale, which is about as accurate as anything out there. I could not tell the difference.

Sometimes I think I shot better just throwing charges. We all got on the weighing kick about 5 years ago And I can not honestly say things have improved.

take a look at the dates on these short range records and notice how many were set long before $1500 annealing machines and $1000 scales were common

Yes, better than .04 gn. Had a very flat waterline at the SWN this year. Still does not stop getting blown out of the 10 ring though.

I think so much in accurate shooting is a case of follow the leader.
Its easier/cheaper/faster to do what the winner does rather that do
a lot of testing of your own ideas. LDS

I can do a LOT better than +-.3gn with a powder measure and I assume that I am not the only one. If you look at the NBRSA and IBS record books, you may notice that the name Gary Ocock is there in several places. Everything he has ever shot has been with thrown charges. Also, if you check the dates of when any of the records were set you will see that a great number of them predate the advent of the Chargemaster. You can pretty much assume that all that do were shot with thrown charges. Also, I am pretty sure that most were shot with cases that had not been annealed.

I really don't need to have first hand knowledge or experience on one to know that the concept of removing it from its resting place every time the hopper needs to be drained is questionable to me. Too much manipulation of the device as a whole. A side drain like the Chargemaster, to me makes more sense. Which is why I went with the A&D and Autotrickler. Much easer to empty the "detachable" hopper, and emptying the trickler is a piece of cake. I want the scale to be settled. Besides, the A&D yields .02 as opposed to .04. Also, if either device goes down, I would prefer to surrender one or the other instead of the whole unit.

you design or redesign any reloading tool, give a few away as prizes at the big matches, send samples to a couple of bloggers to review, market it as precision, charge $1000 a pop and within six months it would be a have to have item on every bench

There is one reloading blogger in particular I follow just for grins and I swear he has never given any sort of negative review on his site on anything. You could send this guy a hammer taped to a toilet plunger with a flashlight riveted to the plunger, put precision in the name and and he would swear it was a must have item on every bench
