RCBS Dies

I am new to long range shooting and just getting my rifle and reloading equipment set up. One question I have is what type of dies do most shooters use? I have usually used RCBS dies and now I am looking at the RCBS Competition set. Of course they cost about twice as much as the other dies but is there something about them that make them worth the extra money in the world of long range shooting? It seems to me that the regular dies would work just fine but the initial set up may take a little longer. Of course, I have been wrong before. I would appreciate some feedback on this issue.

Thanks,

Gil

If you have a factory chamber, the comp dies from rcbs will work just fine. If it is a match chamber let us know. By the way the inline seater will need an extended shellholder. You can also just by the guts of that seater to be used for many cartridges as there are too many to list. So if you buy that comp set you will only need 2 parts to transform that inline seater for future cartridges. The seater does a reasonable job of keeping the bullet straight when seating. You could also get a forster set and the ssame applys by changing the sleeve in the forster to fit many cartridge's.

If you are serious about long range shooting, then pass on the RCBS and get Forster or Redding.

And, yes, they are worth the extra cost.
