RCBS Ammomaster Press Broken -- RCBS Provides Parts

Well after 42 years, I broke my RCBS AmmoMaster. I was sizing and belling 9mm cases and the large pin (that the arms mount to) broke where the E clip groove is. I have no idea when in the cycle it broke until the left side arm dropped. It was too late to call RCBS today so I'll call them tomorrow. I just hope they still carry the part.

CJ6 Update:
Update, I just got off the phone with RCBS and the pin, new e-clips, and all new springs, retainers , bushings and 4 new tips for the primer tubes. All the parts needed for a complete rebuild of the press all at NO CHARGE. This is way beyond what I was expecting. Many Thanks to RCBS and their customer service.
Edit too add.....I'm glad to see that their Customer Service hasn't changed.

That's what I was thinking too. Possibly even facing the one I broke and having it tapped for a bolt and just a washer. Pretty sure it's hardened, but I have a buddy with a mill and lathe that could do it if need be.

RCBS may just send you the part that you need as their customer service is very good. A picture may be helpful to them to get you the right part, but give them a call & see what their response is first.

They also may require you to just send in the press for repair or replacement. It's great advertisement for them when you respond as a satisfied customer to their products issues with a warrantied press after all these years.

In my experience, RCBS has the best customer service I ever encountered. Top notch - second to none. I am sure they will work with you to get you reloading again.

If the fracture surface looks crystaline it's most likely cast iron.

If RCBS doesn't carry the part, I'll have a buddy mill and tap it.

Aside from them actually flying in a technician to reassemble the press, I can’t imagine a better deal.

It is good to see positive results.

While I was talking to the rep. he asked how long I've had the press and how many rounds annually I put through it. He then said well we really should just send you a complete rebuild set. I asked what the charge was and he said no charge, it's covered under warranty. I was impressed.

Yep. They sure take care of their customers! I have a couple of old A2s made in the 60s/70s with thousands of rounds on em, that are still tight and running perfect. If you bend a decapping rod on a crimped in primer, they will send you two free. Beat that!

I have reloading tools from most of the major makers and have dealt with many of their CS. While all were decent RCBS just takes CS to another level. I just believe that there isn't a CS in any other industry that can match RCBS when it comes to CS. JMO
