I have owned the original RCBS manual 4x4 (not the later auto 4x4) since the mid 1980`s and have churned out a truckload of ammo in all calibers on that baby. I have a collection of shell plates for the most frequently reloaded head diameters and would like to add some oddballs such as the .30-30 and .220 Swift.
A Canadian mail order house shows shell plates for the auto 4x4 in their cataloque. Comparing my original manual 4x4 shellplates to a photo of an auto 4x shellplate, they look identical except for two of the indexing holes in the auto 4x4 plate being drilled all the way through.
My question is - has anyone used the auto 4x4 plate in an original manual 4x4? It looks like it should work OK but does it?
