RCBS 304

Bought mine new in about 1975 or so. Never a problem. Took awhile for me to get an electric one. No reason to but I though I’d at least step into the new century. I have a couple sets of check weights.
The 304 is right on the money. Bottom line nothing bothers the 304, cell phones, lighting, nothing.
I read a post some time ago that the guy who people think is the only one to work on scales said he wouldn’t work on a 304. No clue why and mine has needed nothing so I don’t care.
I guess if space where a problem it is a bit large. Not for me but I’ll mention it.
So my view= excellent
Cost used= no clue
I actually have this so this is not here say or what I heard from someone
Glad to send you any pic you want to show I have it
Not for sale.

I got one a few months ago.
I really like it.
It is my understanding they are not good candidates for tuning, but they are good enough for me.
I like the exaggerated size and simplicity of use.

Fully agree with being good.
I merely mentioned about repairs and it came from a doubtful source
Maybe they never need any tuning, mine is closing in on half a century fault free.

M-61, do you remember what you paid for it new?
I was completely unaware of them back in the day. The Cadillac of scales, as far as I knew, was the 10-10. I learned of the 304 a few months ago, and bought one immediately. I love it!
Although I know they aren't tunable to pick up single kernels, I can't shoot good enough to blame a kernel for my fliers.
As best I can tell, it easily holds +/- .1grain.

Way too long ago to even guess at the price.
It was surely more than a a 10-10.
I have a couple of br rifles that will shoot in the 2’s and on occasion the 1’s. That’s really good for me and getting better is not in a scale that might be tune-able in my opinion.
Much like a scope keeping the exact POI I feel a scale that consistently repeats is what’s required. The actual number is interesting but not key.
My 30BR’s want 30.4 of 4198 As long as the scale shows that amount whatever it ‘really’ is doesn’t concern me.
I hope this makes some sense.
