RBros Tactical 6.5x47 @ 600 yards

While tuning my 6 BR AI at 600 I decided load up a few rounds for the tactical rifle and see how it shoot at 600 yards. Needless to say I can’t be more happier, well I can if my bench gun would had shot as good. Yea this rifle outshot my Light Gun today.

Maybe I’ll try my hand at 1k next but for now it’s going on the safe.

My RBros 6.5x47 is one of my favorite guns. Don’t know if it would shoot as good as yours. I know I can’t but the gun might be able to. I run the load RBros developed for me. 42.2 H4350 and a 130 Berger hunting. Runs 2950 FPS out of a 26” Broughton. Great shooting!!

I tried his load and recommended seating depth and it shot bad. That load he gives out is his generic load. If I were you I’d experiment and find a better load.

I have been tempted but it shoots so good and the velocity is great. Not sure I can improve on that. But I could try. What do you recommend for bullet and powder?

I’m big on the Sierra 123 mk but in my RBros it shot so so. So I decided since Travis is big on using the 130 VLD I’d try them. So I seated mine .010 in the lands and began testing with Varget and 450m primers. That’s when it came to life. So I’d say start at 37.2 and work up in .2 grain increments to 38.0 and seat a 130 .010 in and go test.
