Ray-Vin now H.I.C.-Tec spotting scope stand

I've never seen or used an original Ray-Vin scope stand, but I've heard so much about them. With some help from a great forum member as to which model, I purchased one of the current versions being made/sold by Wade & Merilly Buckner at H.I.C.-Tec (Highpower Improvement Concepts...) from Ray's original designs & drawings.

It arrived today, Saturday, after emailing with and ordering from Wade late Wednesday. This is the "Total Eclipse" model, and this thing is STOUT. I can already tell I'm really gonna like it. Seems very simple to adjust yet very, very solid in all it's configurations: standing, sitting or prone.

Here are a few pics (w/ the scope set for standing, sitting and prone) in case they're helpful for anyone considering a scope stand purchase. Last pic shows the extension pole removed from up top and stored in its spot beside the main pole. The whole thing folds up and comes apart easily when needed for storage or transport, too.

They're at www.hic-tec.com

Looks good. I have 2 Ray vin stands. One for ATC and another setup for prone and coaching (sitting in a chair). Fun fact - I purchased the last two scope heads Ray had in March ‘21. Ray and his wife were and are good ppl.

Wade & Merilly Buckner at H.I.C.-Tec are good folks. I have an old Ray-Vin that had a worn out scope head (after 17 years of constant use, it would not hold), I contacted Wade and bought a new one. He also offered to just rebuild mine but since I use it every week, I needed one fast. I did also have him rebuild the old one as a backup and it’s good as new. Totally worth it!
