rare scope rings

I have an old Kahles scope that the tube measures 1.059 which is 26.8986 mm. I want to know if it would be possible to bore out a set of 1 inch rings to fit on this scope. I want to use a modern set of weaver blocks. Anyone that can help let me know via pm.

Didn't Beuhler (sp ?) make a set that size ? I believe they had shims (top/bottom) vertical split to adjust.

The old Pecar scopes had the same tube diameter. I ended up getting a Conetrol set for it as the original Parker Hale alloy rings had no real grip. The Conetrols not only looked great but really anchored the scope.

Maybe get a set of the 30mm rings and 30mm to 1" reducing bushings and open them to fit your scope

Is 59 thousandths too much to lap away from 1” rings?

Along this same topic. One inch scope in 26mm rings? I have read using 3m electrical tape can fill the gap pretty well. Sticky side down. Thoughts and experience?

Easy button is to buy/ purchase one of the sets of rings here. However if not of those will not work for what you want, yes any good machinist can bore those out .055 from a quality set of 1” rings on a mill or lathe. You’d only be removing .0275 per side anyway so no real loss of strength. Make sure they shim the straps to the base so the bore has room to tighten around the scope.
Don’t try to lap that out , even if you found ac26mm lap, that much material you’d never get a round hole

You can get inserts to use in 30 mm rings. I got a set from Brownells years ago. Just google 26 mm inserts for 30 mm scope rings.

Did you ever find a set? Somewhere I have a set of Leupold rings that I bored out for a 26mm Swarovski that ended being a dead scope after I did all the work and mounted it..

You could open up some burris signature inserts. Possibly

Thinking about it, the std 1" inserts would probably grab a 26mm tube fine.
