Ranging with Moa 2 reticle

Got a sightron 8-32 and put on my 308 for ftr this year. Our range owner decided to close the range. We found some more land and won't have pits up and running for a while so we are going to have long range steel matches. Is the moa2 reticle accurate enough to range with and if so how do I go about doing it. Will be shooting out to 1000 on 19 inch targets.

I understand what the subtensions are but using that to range a target should take some kind of formula like ranging with mildots.

MOA formula
Target heigth in inches divided by the MOA reading on your scope (at the correct ranging power) times 95.5= yards to target.

example; 19"target/ 2 MOA reading= 9.5" x 95.5= 907.25 yards to target.

Good luck,
Flintlock

Get a MilDot Master, it will work with MRAD(MilDot) MOA, and with a slight mod IPHY reticles, the sliding scale on the left is for MRAD, the sliding scale on the right labeled "Bullet Drop" can be used for MOA reticles.

I was thinking about a Sightron III, does that scope range correctly at all magnifications or does it have 1 magnification to use ? If just 1 what power is it? thanks

Unless its a FFP the reticle is only calibrated at one power setting.
