Rangefinders, which one?

I looked at both, and I choose the Llieca 1600b. The Sig has a big following in the long range circles. I liked the features the Llieca has. Cabelas has a sale on them now for 599.00.

I am looking at the Sig Kilo 2000 and the new Liecia rangefinder. They both look great, opinions?

Go with the Sig Kilo. Better warranty, same compact size as the Leica, but unlike the Leica, the Sig Sauer can range through rain, snow, and fog due to its dual target priority modes. I have the Leica 1600 CRF and although I love it on nice clear days, it is completely useless with any sort of precipitation or fog.

Sig Sauer is actually coming out with a Kilo 2400 this fall. Supposed to be the same compact size, have updated ballistics software identical to the G7 rangefinder, but still come in at half the price of the G7. I am holding on to my pennies for its release. When I get one, I will either sell my Leica or hand it down to my son.

My understanding is their warranty is as good if not better than Swaro if that's even possible, correct?

I don't know about the Swaro RF. It's too big so I never even looked into it. But most manufacturers, including Leica, will only give you 1 year warranty on the electronics and usually lifetime on the optics. Sig Sauer does 3 years on the electronics and a lifetime in optics. Sig Sauers optics warranty is also better than Leica as it is identical to the Vortex VIP warranty. No questions, no receipt needed, no registration. They fix it for free

I don't believe you will go wrong if you were to get either model you mentioned. I had a Leica 1200 and used it for about 10 years. It served me well and I liked it a lot. My wife will be using it this fall for bowhunting since I bought a Sig Kilo 2000. The glass is better on the Leica 1200 and much better on my sons Leica 1600 than the Sig Kilo. The glass on the Sig Kilo is ok but has a slight blue hint to it and is typically half the price of the Leica 1600.

The price Lou mentioned above of $599.00 for the Leica 1600 at Cabelas is a heck of a deal.

The glass on my Leica 1600 is pretty awesome being that its their HD glass, but I honestly don't care too much about glass in a rangefinder. As long as it's good I'm happy. Not like I'm glassing mountain sides looking for deer and elk with my RF. The only time it gets used is to get a quick range on an animal or range a target while practicing. Usually never look through it more than 10 seconds at a time. And most of the time its less than that. My Meopta Meostar HD spotter and binos do all the leg work for finding the animals and spotting shots on paper at the shooting range.

I own a Sig Kilo, I use it constantly and I'm happy with it. I also own a G7, I use the sig when I'm varmint calling and keep the G7 for the big game hunts. You'll be happy with with the Sig or the Leica but I would listen to what Ledd stated about ranging in weather, that's a big deal and the Leica struggles. I think you can get a Kilo from Monmuoth reloading for 390.00, that's a great price. Good luck on whatever you decide.

I am looking forward to reviews on the Sig 2400 when it comes out, could be a very useful unit at a great value!
