Range Trip Spoiled

This week I hustled each evening doing enough honey dues so I could spend a little time in the Mans Den working up a few reloads. It was not until yesterday I remembered a family reunion today, therefore no range trip this weekend. I did however workup the following

.223 30 round, fine tuning sweet spot) using H335 and Hornady 53gr match HPBT

.243 21 rounds, still working on finding sweet spot) using H4350 and 100gr Sierra Game Kings

8x57mm 33 rounds, first time with this one) using Varget and Hornady 150gr SP

30-06 33 rounds, first time with this one) using IMR4350 and 165gr Hornady SST

Why 4 at a time, well it is hard to sit there and wait for a barrel to cool so I will alternate the 4 rifles, 3 shots each then walk out to the 100 and replace targets and once back at bench record all my data on the individual targets and start my next series. Does this sound like a good plan? Wish me luck!

Sounds like a plan. Actually I'm almost always bringing as many guns I care to haul, since it means I can fully use the range time,I always load at home). Especially hunting guns tend to heat rapidly.

Works for me, I usually bring 2-3 for the same reason. I thought I was one of the few who worked on zeroing in for the "sweet spot" on more than one caliber. It was a blessing to bring more than one rifle at time due to the fact that some one or another of them might develop a malfunction or run into a "load" problem. Good luck for the next weekend. good luck. I finally started reloading for the '06. I wound up with a box of 150 grain Barnes XLCs and using IMR 4350 and some CCI primers came up with an excellent load. It is 58.5 grains and shoots great, but they discontinued the bullets. So I guess I'll have to work on another load next year.

Really like your 223 load about the best out there.

But try some H4895 for the 243 I use the 105's and it seems to have a little better, sharper) snap, not a tech term) than the H4350. Why the long grain works better for me than the short grain I do not know unless it takes longer for the long grain to build up pressure.

either way have fun and good shooting
