Last fall I did some development with the Hornady HPBT 178s and just found them unacceptable, their weight was just all over the place by the time I finished sorting I had eight piles with the 500 lot.
So here as of late I was doing some development with the 178 Amax, now granted I did not weight sort these, but did notice different resistance when seating. The results on the target showed that resistacne. I shot 4 groups of 5 shots with two different loads and all ten had different grouping patters from a couple of 1 hole groups to 1.5 moa!! Now I can not say for sure it's not the rifle as I have about 2k down the barrel of this Tikka Varmint in 308 but I have not seen such a dispersion in shots once a load has been worked up??
What do you guys think? I think I am spoiled by the consistency of the Bergers I have been using for the last couple of years.
