Range reloading?

I am in the process of building a precision rifle, and want to be able to reload at the range. Who makes the better arbor press, dyes, and powder measure? I really don't know what gizmos I will "need" while loading at the range, can't be much, or can it?

Harrells arbor press. Wilson dies. Calipers. Bullet comparator if you're adjusting seating depth. Scales and a box of some sort to cover scales from the wind. And a powder thrower. I'm sure I left something out

Its easier to take prepped primed brass than it is to deprime and prime at the range.

Some take a partner press by rcbs or even the little Lee press and c clamp those to the bench that way you can use standard dies if you don't want to tool up for hand dies.

With all due respect, I disagree with the thought that one is better off taking primed sized brass to the range, instead of doing the whole thing there.
Anyone who has paid attention knows that cases/ neck tension vary. Working with a large number of cases introduces an additional variable that is not desirable for obtaining the highest level of accuracy. I have loaded at the range for years. It is really no big deal. The question as to equipment selection can depend on what cartridge(s) you are planning on loading for, and your budget. For a neat press that also handles arbor press dies, the Harrell Combo Press is a good way to go. If you are planning on using powders that do not throw well, a Chargemaster and home made battery pack are a good way to go. I wouldn't get carried away with machinists' tool boxes. They weigh too much. Keep your boxes light enough to lift easily, and use as many as you need. Having good latches and top handles, as well as wrapping and boxing within the larger boxes to prevent storage and travel wear, are also good. You can PM me if you need help with any of the details. I will be glad to be of assistance.

To start out inexpensive a Lee Hand Press that will use conventional dies, a set of Lee Dippers and a a Trickler, along with a scale of your choice will get the ball rolling.

I concur with the possibility of the hand press. I've loaded 2 years just using a hand press. I finally bought a one stage press for depriming and sizing. That got a little tiring. ;D

take a look at German Salazar's website, he wrote a couple of articles on loading at the range last year.
