Ranch clean up today

Spent the day cleaning up, moving cow carcasses off a ranch pastures to a main 100y old dead pile a mile off.
Cleaned up, reset fresh carcasses along tree lined creek, fresh cow replaced 7 old dried out bodies from a field spot.
We eliminated 9 different spots that coyotes were eating on old carcasses in 3 drainages, a large bowl area and hill fingers.
Cut it down to 3 easy access spots w fresh carcasses to improve our luck.
51 coyote carcasses moved from a fenceline I was dumping them at for ease to ranches main dead pile a mile away.
Pal towing 4 carcasses as I rode a cow, yup dust in face dummy.
Winched 3 fresh cow bodies from knee deep mud and used them as fresh bodies for coyote sets.
Overall 21 carcasses moved.
There are many drag trails from the bodies and you know coyote will be following them tonight.
Would go out, but winds gusting to 45mph, 15t25 average....darn it.

The cow carcasses didn't smell much at all, most were bones n dried hides hard as heck.
The coyotes were pretty smelly though and a ziliion maggots that my pal was all queesy about. Told him to stop being wimpy. I scooped a handfull w my glove and tossed em towards him on the ground but not on him.
I had to laugh, said look its just fish bait quit being anal, if you kill em w me you also clean em up when time comes.
Dead carcasses like that dont bother me at all.
It was windy so smell didn't linger in air to much. Gotta have fun w him now n then since we've known each other since 6th grade and we give each other crap all the time.

Baxter Black had a good story one time that related to this. The Veterinarian had a cow die and he chained it up behind his pickup to haul it off when he received an emergency call back at the office. Anyway after a long morning at the office he heads to town for lunch and wonders why his truck wouldn’t run like its normal self after pulling all the way through town to get to the cafe. To say the least he had a surprise when he met up with the regulars.
